Our aim is simple – to supplement the valuable care provided by the NHS with plans for individuals, families and businesses.
NHS Top-Up is powered by the not-for-profit health insurer Western Provident Association Limited (WPA), authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
More than 115 years ago, WPA began as the Reading Working Peoples’ Voluntary Hospital Contributory Fund. Nearly half a century before the creation of the NHS, workers would contribute a portion of their wages into a contributory fund. The contributory fund allowed members to access it at times of ill health and was a precursor to what we now know as a health cash plan.
Our NHS Top-Up plans are simple to set up and manage online. Any time you have eligible routine treatment, just pay up-front and then make a claim which we’ll reimburse within a few days. Quick, simple and hassle free.
We are not motivated by profit, but by creating plans of the highest quality at the most affordable price possible.
You can rely on our NHS Top-Up plans to support your health and wellbeing and put money back in your pocket for everyday health expenses.
We take the security of our members' information very seriously. As one of the first UK insurance companies to achieve the internationally recognised Information Security Management standard, we do everything possible to protect sensitive information from unauthorised access.
We keep our standards of service extremely high by continually and critically reviewing what we do. We provide the highest levels of customer service and are independently certified as meeting the standards for Quality Management Systems on a company-wide basis.
We work hard to protect our members at all times. So even if something unexpected happens to us, like a fire, we can still continue to operate as usual. We are proud to have achieved full accreditation for Business Continuity Management, meaning our members can always rely on us no matter what might happen.
We invest in systems and services to reduce waste of our natural resources. The paper we use is made up of fibre sourced from well-managed forests, independently certified according to the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council. We have been awarded the Environmental Management standard - one of the highest benchmarks in environmental management and best practice.
